Hi There!!
Happy Tuesday (if there is such a thing)...
This week already seems very, very long - at 3pm both yesterday and today, the clock started to move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me. Extra points for you if you got that reference.
That being said, there is definitely good news this week:
- I did pilates yesterday and yoga today. I hope to focus on cardio and the below activities for the rest of the week.
- I discovered that I get 24 free channels by plugging a unnoticed cable in to my almost never used television. My life will be changed forever haha.
- These newly discovered channels have allowed me to watch not only Bachelor Pad but the Olympics! There is such a HUGE difference between Olympic coverage here in the US compared to back home in Canada. Craziness! Observations:
- I'm super into gymnastics right now! Teeny little people doing wild flips, spins, bounces and kicks = entertainment at its best.
- Poor Michael Phelps has lost just a teensy bit of his mojo :( but he is still pretty rad
- My aunt & uncle were here this past weekend and they took my to Costco while they were here (yes, in Harlem). That means that my freezer is stocked with scallops, salmon, halibut and coffee. That means my fridge is full of very cool cheese. That means that I have enough bottles of wine to last me at least until Sunday ;)
- Thursday is my company's annual employee summer party. We are going to a country club in NJ. I've signed up for 2 activities: cooking class & wine tasting class. Should be a co-workertastic time.
- Friday, BF and I are going to go see Mike Tyson on Broadway. Seriously. I'll let you know how it goes.
Since I have been bad at taking pictures lately, here are a few things that have been going on in my kitchen:
| street cherries - $2/lb . Loves it. |
| leftover chili + salad |
Sounds like a great week! It is really interesting how the Olympics is covered differently in different countries. We get far too little of the gymnastics if you ask me - I think America covers it much more! - and somewhat unbalanced coverage in general, in that it's mostly of Australian athletes. Fair enough, but I like watching some sports no matter who is playing, and there's only so much swimming I can watch, even if an Australian is swimming :P
ReplyDeleteMike Tyson on Broadway? Doing what? The dancing, the singing, the acting or all three? I love the look of those cherries and can't believe the price. That's certainly a bargain by Sydney standards xx
ReplyDeleteI do cardio right away on yoga day, just to get it out of the way. I do 15 minutes as fast as I can on elliptical, which really gets my body stretchy for yoga anyway.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great price for cherries! If they were $2 a pound in WI, I'd be eating them from morning to night! What I am loving right now is black plums!
Our coverage of the Olympics made it more depressing than it needed to be. If an athlete just lost a race, the sportscaster should encourage them instead of needle them to explain their loss. Sometimes Americans would like to see other teams more. We are a diverse nation who loves to see other nation's attempts to be their best, even if it is not perfected yet. Also, I would have liked to see more of those women's badminton games in which certain teams tried on purpose to lose! No story is good without the suspicious characters/villains. :D

Cherries are 2$ a pound here too - love it!
ReplyDeleteAm so excited about your television news!!!
ReplyDeleteI plug in my cord all the time, just to see if something will happen! Haha!
Canceled my cable several months ago because I was only watching 90210 on SoapNet and Sex & the City on TBS... and I already own every episode of 90210 and Sex on DVD! LOL, what a big freaking waste!
Your salad looks divine!
